SEMIM PROGRAM COHORT 2025 – 9 WEEKS (Est. 2014)

PUBLIC HEALTH MENTORSHIP LAUNCH

Sello Mafatle Internship and Mentorship (SEMIM) program is back again with a call for Applications for interested:

  • Practising Health Care Practitioners
  • Graduates interested on opportunities in the Public Health Sector during this dynamic and changing phase of the 4th Industrial Revolution and Public Health Generally.

SEMIM is a platform of networking, opening opportunities and continuous and consistent mentorship program for professionals in Lesotho.

Application Requirements

  • The Mentorship will be open to 20 mentees only.
  • It is a positive discrimination selection as priority will be given to Applicants in the Humanities and Social Sciences and exclude Natural Sciences, Finance, Economics and Accounting.
  • Interested Applicants are to provide the Resume/CV and a two paragraph only motivation of why they believe they should be on the Mentorship program.
  • Candidates from the districts outside Maseru are encouraged to also apply. Whilst they are responsible for their accommodation, best possible endeavours are made to make all on the program appreciate to the extent possible that they need to support each other.
  • The program is based on goodwill and attendees are not given any stipend and Resource Persons are Volunteers who most of them have a strong historic relationship with SEMIM.

  • Successful applicants will be notified on or before Friday the 24th April 2025.

Disqualification

  • Applications who do not use own WhatsApp lines and/or own emails.
  • Applicants whose names are mentioned by others through means that may be viewed as corrupt and unethical.

Align to the following elements and variables

Mentor Responsibility:

  • Structured guidance of 2 hours minimum per 10 days
  • Offer prompt feedback defined as feedback within 48 hours
  • Lead by example and never to miss sessions
  • Introduces a Mentee to networks and where possible to be a plus 1
  • Champions and inaugurates the 4 Lead Goals of a Mentee
  • Where appropriate introduces the Mentee to mental and psychological help

Mentee Responsibilities:

  • Be willing to learn and submit reports and assignments promptly
  • Brings fresh ideas to be tested for implementation within the Program Areas
  • Self-audit framework from personal 4 Lead Goals: personal stories and daring challenges of self
  • Feedback implementation and prompt reporting within 24 hours of Mentorship session and engagement irrespective of the time taken with the Mentor
  • Acts as proactive PA of the sessions
